Onna Arkander

Human Paladin

“The refuge of the faithful is a fortress that will never fail. It will stand as long as they trust in its might.”

Appearance: Sitting outside her home in the city, a friendly human woman reads a story to a circle of children. Her blue eyes are kind and her wide face expressive as she does the voices of the characters. Apple-cheeked with strawberry blonde hair, she fits the image of a warm grandmother as each child is held in rapt attention by her tale. As she finishes, she closes her book and they begin to clap in delight.

Personality: Onna Arkander's chief pleasure is what she can give to other people, always going out of her way for others. She is rewarded most by taking care of children and will invent creative theatrics and activities to keep them entertained. It is her nature to be a caregiver and only consider herself last of all.

Motivation: Taking care of others is just as important as taking care of oneself. There are enough real ugliness and evil in the world. It's best to focus on the small things that matter the most to people.

Roleplaying Tips: Onna often pushes herself and it can be difficult for her to sit still. She always has a project to work on or someone to meet when she's not caring for the children who come to her home.

Background: When she was younger, Onna Arkander's smaller sister went missing and it was discovered she had been murdered by a vampiric cult. Onna vowed to put an end to their destruction, hunting down and destroying each of the creatures as a paladin of Vior, the deity of light. Her quest was aided by the secret organization called the Mirandae, and she became a member for a time before she retired.

Traits: Cunning, Divine, Good, Lawful, Resilient, and Wise

Dark Secret: Though Onna successfully destroyed the monsters that murdered her sister, her reputation as a vampire hunter is well known among their kind and one ancient vampire still seeks her head.

  • Onna is always looking out for the children of the city and has opened her home to many of them during the day while their parents earn a living. There are some, however, she believes are homeless and living somewhere in the city sewers. She would like to find them herself, but her other responsibilities keep her from taking the risk. She is looking to hire someone else to find out what is going on and why.

  • It’s the middle of the night and something is not right. You look out the window to see several dark robed figures surround the small house across the street.
