Saralie Savrigne

Human Cleric

“My parents taught me everything I know about truth, kindness, and caring for people and I owe them everything.”

Appearance: Brandishing the symbol of Oerd, the deity of war, this blonde woman wears the heavy armor of a cleric. She has a disapproving expression as she peers at you through thick glasses, a golden circlet holding her long straight hair out of her face. Her robes are expensive and intricately adorned and it almost seems that she is too thin to carry her gear. She must be much stronger than she looks.

Personality: Saralie is a sincere devotee to her faith, one so dedicated that some would call her a fanatic. Though she’s not comfortable being a leader herself, she enjoys having influence with those that are. She isn’t afraid to aggressively pursue whatever she feels she needs to fulfill her family legacy.

Motivation: I would have died in the street if my parents wouldn’t have taken me in. They saved my life and gave me a home and a family. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for them. I will make them proud.

Roleplaying Tips: Saralie Savrigne pours word upon word as she speaks and isn’t afraid to use her extensive vocabulary. She has a series of scars and cuts on her back from self-inflicted ritual whippings.

Background: Saralie Savrigne was abandoned as a child, never knowing her real parents. Instead, she was adopted by a wealthy family, one with a long tradition of service to their chosen deity. Saralie knew early on that she wanted to be a cleric and with her family’s support became one of the youngest of her faith. She is the newest member of The First Line and engaged to its leader Markaius Thallion.

Traits: Adventurer, Attractive, Cunning, Divine, Evil, Intelligent, Lawful, Mercenary, Persuasive, Religious, Strong, and Villainous

Dark Secret: Saralie is not a cleric of Oerd at all, but a cleric of the trickster deity Evrash. She murdered The First Line’s former leader and plans to corrupt Markaius Thallion and turn him to her faith.

Plot Hooks
  • Though Markaius Thallion is the leader of The First Line, Saralie Savrigne has his ear and will try to poison him against your party if she can’t use you. This is doubly true if she feels your party is a threat to her or her agenda with Markaius, and if you’ve had dealings with The Last Word, her job will be easy.

  • If you and your party somehow manage to impress Markaius despite her influence, Saralie will change tactics entirely, attempting to aid your party as much as possible in an effort to secure your cooperation in blocking and discrediting the The Last Word with Markaius’ encouragement. She will try to turn any investigation of the previous leader’s murder away from herself and toward The Last Word’s leader.

  • Whether concealed within the husk of a dilapidated mansion or buried beneath a crumbling city ruin, your party is about to discover a site sacred to Evrash. Saralie Savrigne is interested in the site for her own reasons and has maneuvered The First Line to investigate and will deeply resent your presence.
