Appearance: Few have ever seen the one they call “Uldar the Unfading.” Through his magic he projects himself as an exemplar of human masculinity, dark-skinned and superbly muscled, sea-green eyes alive with promises untold. In reality, he is a desiccated husk, atrophied flesh clinging to his small and bony frame, his only strength the crackling and unnatural magic that keeps him from death.

Personality: Uldar Thross is a being consumed, having been given over to his pride and lust for power. An ancient thing, he has learned to master deception and find the weaknesses of those he would manipulate or destroy. He is beyond remorse or compassion, a monster at the heart of a web of lies.
​
Motivation: No matter how long it takes, no matter the cost, Cthadras will return to rule this world as a conquering god, and I will be its only priest. Until then, let its influence spread among the fodder.
​
Roleplaying Tips: In visions and when spoken to the mind, Uldar’s voice is resonant and dripping with honey. He will often perform favors to gain the trust of those he would eventually enslave.
​
Background: As a mortal, Uldar Thross was the youngest son of a human king, yet was plagued by despair and attempted to take his own life. His failure opened his mind to the voice of the otherworldly being known as Cthadras. Accepting its gift of undeath, Uldar Thross has revived the once ancient following dedicated to its return and rules the cult from his concealed and subterranean haunt.

Dark Secret: Despite his promises, Uldar has no intention of sharing immortality with the cult that serves him. Those who are ready for his final initiation are led to his lair to be raised as mindless undead.
Plot Hooks

The inexplicable disappearance of a prominent city figure has caused concern and scandal. In truth, this person is a powerful member of the Cult of Cthadras and is being lured to Uldar Thross’ lair and an unknowing death. A reward is offered to anyone who can bring them home but, convinced they are to receive their master’s immortal gift, they will resist all attempts to reveal the cult or return to the city.

Through the influence of Cthadras, Uldar Thross may begin to whisper to anyone who has cheated death, either through resurrection magic or by a near-death experience. He chooses his subjects carefully, first in dreams, then in waking visions. Has any of your party begun to hear his voice?

The Cult of Cthadras is fixated on bloodlines and none is more important than the bloodline of Thross. Once every century a descendant of Uldar Thross is born that will sustain the warlock should he consume them. Now, it is your blood he seeks and his cult is searching to find you and bring you to him.
